# ValhallaMMO Premium - Player Guide

This guide explains how ValhallaMMO Premium works from a player's perspective.

It is written for a mostly default setup, which matches this server closely. Your server also uses ValhallaRaces and custom classes, so those are included as practical notes where relevant.

What ValhallaMMO Changes

ValhallaMMO turns normal survival into a full progression system with:

  • Skill leveling tied to your actions
  • Skill trees with unlockable perks
  • Combat and utility stats that scale your build
  • Active/passive abilities tied to weapon, armor, and profession paths
  • Premium-only skills (Trading and Martial Arts)

Think of it as an RPG layer on top of normal Minecraft, not a separate game mode.

Core Progression Loop

  1. Do an activity (fight, mine, fish, farm, craft, brew, enchant, trade)
  2. Gain skill EXP in that category
  3. Level that skill and improve associated performance
  4. Gain Power EXP from non-Power skills
  5. Level Power to earn skill points
  6. Spend skill points in trees to unlock perks and abilities

Skills Overview (Premium)

Default free setups have 14 skills. Premium includes 16 by adding:

  • Trading
  • Martial Arts

Main groups to understand:

  • Combat: Light Weapons, Heavy Weapons, Archery, Light Armor, Heavy Armor, Martial Arts
  • Gathering/Professions: Mining, Woodcutting, Digging, Farming, Fishing, Smithing, Alchemy, Enchanting, Trading
  • Meta Progression: Power

Power and Skill Points

Power is your global progression track.

  • You generally level Power by leveling other skills
  • Power levels are what grant skill points
  • Skill points are spent in trees to unlock perks and ability upgrades

If you only grind one skill forever, your build tends to become narrow. Spreading effort across your playstyle gives better overall returns.

Premium-Only Skills You Should Use

Trading

Trading progression is tied to Villager interaction and economy flow.

  • EXP comes from trading (emerald spend/sales)
  • Villager systems are deeper than vanilla (discount/happiness/relation effects)
  • Tree perks improve trade quality, discounts, and villager utility

Good for players who prefer town economy, shops, and long-term infrastructure.

Martial Arts

Martial Arts is advanced unarmed progression.

  • EXP is based on damage dealt
  • Includes unique combat abilities (for example uppercut/dropkick style play)
  • Also includes utility-style features at higher investment

Good for aggressive mobility builds or players who want a unique combat identity.

Combat Mechanics You Must Understand

ValhallaMMO rebalances combat heavily.

Important points:

  • Weapon classes matter (light vs heavy behavior differences)
  • Armor class matters (light mobility vs heavy durability)
  • Vanilla crits are treated as power attacks; Valhalla critical systems can apply separately
  • Many effects are chance-based and influenced by Luck
  • Penetration, resistances, and damage type interactions matter at higher progression

If fights feel harder than vanilla, that is expected. Build synergy matters more than raw gear quality.

Stats in Plain English

You will eventually interact with a lot of custom stats. Focus on these first:

  • Damage Dealt / Melee Damage / Ranged Damage
  • Armor / Toughness / Armor Penetration
  • Damage Resistances (general + type-specific)
  • Crit Chance / Crit Damage
  • Cooldown Reduction
  • Healing and Regeneration multipliers
  • Luck

Luck is especially important in Valhalla systems because it can improve many chance rolls.

Anti-Farm Scaling (Very Important)

ValhallaMMO default anti-cheese behavior reduces efficient stationary grinding.

  • Repeating combat EXP gains in one chunk eventually nerfs EXP heavily
  • Some repetitive farm patterns also reduce related progression efficiency

Practical takeaway:

  • Rotate locations
  • Mix activities
  • Do not expect one AFK-style setup to carry all progression

Best Starter Route (First Week)

If you are new, use this route:

  1. Pick one combat path: Light Weapons or Heavy Weapons
  2. Pick one armor path: Light Armor or Heavy Armor
  3. Pair with one gathering skill: Mining or Farming
  4. Add one utility/profession path: Enchanting, Alchemy, or Smithing
  5. Spend early points on consistency/survival before niche bonuses

This gives smooth solo progression and scales well into group/town play.

Player Actions and Ability Usage

Some Valhalla abilities are action-driven rather than command-driven.

  • Parry-style skills use timing inputs (for example right-click windows)
  • Some weapon/skill abilities use sneak + attack/use patterns
  • Certain systems use inventory interactions (for example applying/coating/combining behavior)

Treat ability timing as part of your build skill, not just stats.

Useful In-Game Commands

Depending on server aliases/menu wrappers, these may be exposed in menus or direct commands.

CommandWhat it does
/val skillsOpens your skill menu/tree progression
/val profile <skill> [player]Shows a detailed stat/profile view
/skillsCommon alias/menu command on many setups (if configured)

If one command does not work, use the menu flow your server provides and check help channels.

ValhallaRaces and Custom Classes on This Server

This server also uses ValhallaRaces plus custom race/class content.

How to think about it:

  • Race/class bonuses layer on top of Valhalla progression
  • Your best build is race bonuses + class perks + Valhalla skill tree synergy
  • Early stat and perk choices should support your race/class identity

A full race-by-race and class-by-class section can be added once your race YAML is shared.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Splitting points into too many unrelated trees too early
  • Grinding one chunk/farm and wondering why EXP slows down
  • Ignoring survivability stats while chasing damage only
  • Copying another player's build without matching their race/class context
  • Treating Luck as optional in chance-heavy builds

Build Planning Template

Use this quick template when planning:

  1. Primary role: Bruiser / Duelist / Archer / Crafter / Trader
  2. Core combat pair: (Light or Heavy Weapon) + (Light or Heavy Armor)
  3. Economy backbone: Mining/Farming/Fishing/Trading
  4. Support profession: Smithing/Alchemy/Enchanting
  5. Keystone perks: 3-5 must-have nodes
  6. Flex stats: Luck, cooldown reduction, penetration/resistances as needed

Final Advice

ValhallaMMO rewards players who build with intention.

  • Progress steadily across complementary skills
  • Read perk nodes before spending
  • Keep your build coherent with your preferred playstyle
  • Adapt your tree when your race/class package changes

Master the loop, and every part of survival becomes stronger, faster, and more rewarding.
